FISHING

The fishing is great on Hamlin Lake in summer and winter.  Whether you traverse the nearby bayous or head for deeper waters, Hamlin Lake offers Tiger muskie, salmon, northern pike, large and small-mouth bass, perch, crappie, bluegill, and walleye. Hamlin Dam is an excellent spot for catching salmon in the fall.  Our driveway is big enough to accommodate two cars and a boat.  There are both private and public boat launch minutes from our home.

SUMMER

In the summer, with miles of sandy beaches, picturesque sunsets, outdoor adventures, excellent fishing, and boating opportunities, the whole family will have plenty to do.  The area has over 28 miles of sandy shoreline. Looking for something a bit more adventurous? Set sail on Lake Michigan or attend one of the local events and festivals.

Hamlin Lake offers terrific summer recreation, including swimming, boating, tubing, and fishing. You will find beautiful sand dunes and sandy bottom swimming. Climb the dunes for a magnificent view of Hamlin Lake and Lake Michigan. Hamlin Lake touches the Manistee National Forest on the north.

BEACHES

The public beach and free parking at Ludington's Stearns Park has been the recipient of numerous awards and recently USA Today named it as one of the Top 51 Great American Beaches, representing the #1 beach in Michigan. Stearns Park has well-maintained restroom facilities, groomed sands, and beautiful views and downtown Ludington is only a few minutes walk. The Lake Michigan beaches at Ludington State Park are a 5-minute drive from our house.

AUTUMN

With tunnels of orange, red, and yellow, autumn is a magical time of year in Ludington. Many people enjoy golfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing. There are over 20 golf courses within a 45 minutes drive of the Ludington area.

WINTER

Imagine yourself sitting by the fireplace while watching snowfall after a day of outdoor activities. You will find cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking along snow-covered trails. Ludington hosts the biggest New Year's Eve Ball Drop in West Michigan and a winter beer festival featuring some of the state's best beers.

DINING

Ludington is home to a variety of culinary options. No matter what you are in the mood for - casual, fine dining, something quick and easy, or breakfast all-day - you can find it here.

SHOPPING

Ludington is a port city that is home to specialty shops and art galleries. Downtown is home to the famous House of Flavors Restaurant & Ice Cream Shop and antique shops, a natural-food store, brewpubs, clothing and music retailers, and arts and crafts shops.
