Print Production Generalist
Safety Decals is looking for someone that is detail-oriented, self-motivated, a fast learner and comfortable taking initiative and responsibility to work in our fast-paced print production environment. This person should be accurate entering all job specifications and information, along with giving accurate full production briefs. This person must have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of printing, asset management and servicing. We are ideally looking for someone with experience managing a high volume of creative and campaign types, production project management, adaptions, resizing, repurposing and everything in between. The individual must have a positive attitude and the experience or the willingness to learn all aspects of our production department. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual will assist the production team with feeding machines; sort, check and packaging materials; performing quality checks; setup workstation terminals; feeding paper, vinyl and other materials through machines and printers; adjusting feed and tension controls; clean ink and machines; prepare customer jobs for shipment. Must be highly organized and a detailed individual with great verbal and written communication skills Must uphold department quality standards and client brand guidelines, along with strict timeline and scheduling management Ensure internal quality control and proper handoff of all client materials Perform basic and detailed machining and assembly tasks to operate at least one machine and/or perform many manual / assembly duties Perform repetitious and previously performed work without supervisory and technical assistance Multi-tasking that requires focused concentration is expected Utilizes basic skills and experience background to perform machining and manual tasks Must be comfortable with improvising, as sometimes it is necessary to solve work problems to maintain work schedules Work from verbal or written instructions, work specifications, routing sheets, etc. – uses basic math, all in English Perform minor maintenance and work with others to aid with major maintenance projects when assigned May utilize and/or operate material moving equipment, carts, boxes, etc. and use some production tools including hand tools and precision devices When assigned perform duties and tasks outside department and job to the best of individual skill and ability Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as work schedules require. In peak periods additional overtime may be required Comply with general work rules – responsible for quality of own work, housekeeping of own work area, and to work safely Great with time management, prioritization and communication is a must A general understanding of reproduction specifications PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work requires individual to be mobile and in a standing and/or walking position with ability to lift 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The individual is frequently required to reach with hands and arms to grab or hang onto objects; uses hands to handle, finger, or feel objects and to perform keyboarding. Sometimes it is necessary to crouch or kneel. Successful performance requires good vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus QUALIFICATIONS: Must have at least a high school diploma, vocational degree or GED. Ideally someone with 3 months to 3 years of fast-paced, high-volume production experience or similar background or equivalent combination of education and experience is needed to successfully perform job requirements. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Requires very good working knowledge and experience with computers – keyboarding, data entry, and information lookup is necessary. Must quickly learn (within 2 weeks) to utilize the appropriate modules of the computerized business system and to update most required work data information. Requires ability to stay under control while working with continually changing multi-task work assignments in a deadline work environment. Must have basic machining and/or assembly skills.
